Private retreats for families, couples, organizations, parents, leaders, and children may be specially arranged. Workshops may be one day or three days.
“Waves rear like horses as the storm surges forward,
but the eye in the center looks calmly toward the shore.”
Linda Kohanov, Way of the Horse
“A horse walks down the middle of the road. A human being, on the other hand, sticks to one extreme or the other.” – Rabbi Menachem Mendel Kotzk (1787-1859)
You are invited to “leave the city” and glimpse through the eye of your center for a restorative retreat inside expansive fields and mountain vistas with retired thoroughbred racehorses. Each date follows a Kairos Retreat. Come for four days or one. Venture to look calmly toward the shore in the roundpen as you Master 2000 pounds of horsepower, a living metaphor for transformative storms that summon us to wholeness, to our becoming fully human. Each horse is a mirror to your soul helping you awaken the next treasure on your life adventure from your instincts.
In the words of T.S. Eliot, “Except for the point, the still point, There would be no dance, and there is only the dance.” ACTT Naturally and Kairos Center for Change are partnering to offer these experiential workshops, coaching each participant to lead retired thoroughbred racehorses from their still point. It is a true and eternal finding beyond time, space, and influence. It is a breaking free from habits and conditioning unnecessarily weighing us down or blocking our creative potential.
Learning to engage the spirit of a horse opens our hearts to listen, lead, and reconnect to our core instincts, our bodies, our voice, our spirit, our truth — all that lies on the axis of personal authority — with a form of intention and grace that only nature can summon. These beautiful creatures help us remember our natural, best selves and hear our deepest calls into wholeness which is too easily and so often suffocated by real survival needs and worldy winds. Dancing at Long Shadows farm in Cambridge is a real return and with each meeting, I bring something back with me to this world.
Workshops are tailored to the needs of each group to slowly and gently prepare everyone to be with Being that lies deep within, below the scars and triggers of our lived and unlived lives, beyond any and all cultural conditioning, beyond the tides of uncertainty and loss that we are all wrestling with at any given time, consciously and unconsciously. The horses help us remember how to move forward and lead with, consciously and generously, to engage steadily in courageous positive change from the still point.
