Empathy or Entanglement?

fruit of the Spirit | Soulful Musings

In our relationships there are times we feel empathy, a freedom to love and understand the other’s experience from their perspective. Empathy leaves us with a greater sense of intimacy and hope, a capacity to celebrate diversity and growth. Consciousness expands, transforming the heart into broader vistas.

In our relationships there are times we get entangled, bound to one another inside the trappings of a hidden psychological experience leaving us feeling isolated and bereft. Consciousness shrinks, imprisoning the heart and will, shrinking and erasing vistas of possibility.

When we can observe the siblings, empathy and entanglement, we can observe the eternal waltz of life and death dancing us home toward eternity.
